About The Artist

Designing jewelry has been a passion of mine for the past two decades. I've been developing a special relationship with metal and rocks over time; the moment when two pieces of metal connect – excites me to this day. Each rock or stone I work with inspires me. I can see its potential and its story and purpose comes to life.
I started my career as a graphic designer, earning my degree at the School of Visual Arts in New York. I worked as a designer and then as an art director in the fast pace of Manhattan. Then, I became a conceptual technologist at the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in New York. I studied Jewelry Technology and Design in Tel Aviv, Israel. My studio relocated with me to Vancouver, Canada. Jewelry became a passion and a hobby for many years. Six years of working as an Information Architect and Interaction Designer came to an end with a cancer diagnosis. Suddenly, my hobby moved to the front stage and with the healing came the strength of a new future and a new calling.

My work is artistic in nature. I regard the jewelry I create as wearable art. Each piece is conceptual, hand-made and one-of-a-kind. I work mostly with sterling silver and 18K gold, stones and rocks but also with brass, wood, magnets and more.
Storytelling is both my passion and my strength. I love designing custom pieces that represent an aspect of my client. I feel invigorated when a piece I design touches someone, when the connection runs deeper than the touch to the skin.

As HillamonsterDesigns, I offer these custom designs:
New, unique pieces, based on conversations with clients.

Modernizing existing pieces; giving your heirloom new life.

Items specially made to commemorate events. For example, a bride and her bridesmaids get similar handmade pendants. Similar yet unique.
